An Accidental Business

It is 2025. The name is Panel Bound Comics. The letters look right now, but they did not always.

It is 2020. JP’s wife wants Twilight. He buys himself DCeased and Injustice instead.

It is years later. JP still wonders if that was the first choice that made all the others inevitable.

It is the moment before the first sale. He is holding five copies of the same book because the distributor will not sell fewer. One will stay. Four will go. A business begins without his consent.

It is the moment after. The kitchen is the warehouse. Then the garage. Then a real warehouse. The cartons become pallets.

It is 2021. The name is Organic Priced Books. It is chosen because JP is on a health kick. It is never a name he likes.

It is 2023. There is a YouTube channel. There is Whatnot. David dances there. The reach is global.

It is 2024. Search engines keep asking, “Do you mean organic produce?” JP does not. Jake rebuilds the website so it matches the company it has become.

It is 2025. The name changes to Panel Bound Comics. The shelves are heavy with stories. JP runs the ship, Jake and David at his side, each of them lifelong readers.

It is the future. There are exclusives, still unseen. They are waiting. We are waiting.

The cartons have become pallets.
