Legendary creator Stephen R. Bissette's work with Alan Moore on SWAMP THING helped revolutionize the comic book medium and changed horror fiction forever. A decade later he chased after a childhood dream and broke ground on his most ambitious project: the life story, told as realistically as the science of the times would allow, of a Tyrannosaurus rex, from birth to bloody death.

TYRANT.

Some dreams need to die before being born again. With the collapse of the distribution system TYRANT had been created in, Bissette was unable to see his 10-year plan to fruition. The work that was done, however, sits atop the grandest achievements in sequential art history.

Now, for the first time ever, the historic masterpiece by a Will Eisner Hall of Fame cartoonist at the height of his powers is being collected. Celebrated artist and designer Jim Rugg (HULK: GRAND DESIGN, STREET ANGEL) has created multiple editions along with exclusive limited items for this once-in-a-lifetime event.

Rugg’s previous collaboration with Lighthouse Editor/Publisher Chris Stevens, LITTLE NEMO: DREAM ANOTHER DREAM, won both the Eisner and Harvey Awards for Best Design.

This campaign brings TYRANT back in the form it always deserved: impeccably restored, lovingly designed, and presented in formats befitting the King of the Dinosaurs.

A comprehensively exhaustive oversized 9"x12" hardcover collecting the original issues of TYRANT, including never-before-seen work from issues #5 and #6. THE COMPLETE EDITION features restored artwork scanned and processed under the supervision of Sean Michael Robinson, publisher of Living The Line Art and widely considered the foremost expert of the day on line art reproduction.

Over 200 pages of material including essays from comic book creators (including Rick Veitch) and paleontologists, process drawings, and archival content serve to inform and illuminate the TYRANT story. The book features a stunning fold-out reversible triptych (color side courtesy of Charles Forsman).
