The story

Humanity has reached a hard-won age of stability. The catch is that an alliance of global corporations and newly invented religions is running the show. Worship drives the economy, faith is power, and salvation is something you buy.

Then the old gods come back. Ancient gods of fire, wind, jaguars, love, war and mischief wake up inside ordinary people. The powers that be don't see miracles. They see threats. And the great faiths prepared for this long ago: twelve orphans, given special abilities and raised to have no faith, no love and no remorse.

Volume 1 starts with a heist gone wrong, a stolen stone tablet, and one very bad night that unleashes gods across the world.
